Village Farms is widely regarded as a leader in greenhouse agriculture, with a strong reputation for innovation, efficiency, and sustainability. For many years, Village Farms used gas from the Vancouver Landfill to produce renewable electricity for sale to BC Hydro, and heat for use in their greenhouses. Since 2024, and in partnership with Terreva Renewables, the landfill gas is now upgraded into RNG and sold to FortisBC. Village Farms is also actively exploring opportunities to produce liquid CO2 for use and sale locally. Join us on this tour to learn about the past, present, and future of landfill gas utilization at Village Farms.
The tour will leave from the Westin Bayshore hotel at 12:30pm, returning to the same location at 4 pm. Drinks and light snacks will be provided. The tour DOES NOT include lunch. Attendees are asked to dress appropriately for the tour, and must wear closed-toed shoes. PPE vests will be provided.
Spaces on the tour will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for the Tour is $150 + GST.
