2025 Value of Biogas East Conference Biogas Tour

The CBA is offering a facility tour to complement the 2025 Value of Biogas East Conference. Please purchase your tickets here to attend the tours. Note that space is limited.

The Walker Environmental East & South Landfills are the largest privately owned landfills in Ontario with a long history of biogas utilization, with multiple projects active at the site.  The landfill is home to Ontario’s largest RNG plant, designed for 950,000 GJ of RNG annually.  Additionally, the site sells landfill gas to their neighbour, General Motors, through a dedicated pipeline, who uses it as a fuel in their cogeneration plant. There are also 2 x 1MW landfill gas powered generators at the site, one generating electricity for the grid, the other, used behind the meter.  Walker has had ongoing LFG utilization projects at the site since 2002.

Buses for the Tour will leave the Westin Harbour Castle (1 Harbour Square, Toronto ON) at 10:30 am, returning at 4:30 pm. Spaces on the tour will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for the Tour is $150 + HST. Registration includes a packed lunch and bus transportation to and from the facility.
