Anaerobic Digestion Guideline

The Canadian Biogas Association (CBA) is preparing a Canadian Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Guideline to be an informative guidance document developed to assist stakeholders in deployment of AD facilities that process food and organic waste materials, including agricultural feedstocks. Stakeholders include developers, regulators, organizations or members of the public with specific or general interest in AD facilities.

The AD Guideline addresses planning considerations, such as site selection considerations, and best management practices for design and operation of AD facilities. The AD Guideline reflects current policy and regulatory framework and describes best management practices in Canada.

Responses to the CBA are requested by email to jgreen@biogasassociation.ca by May 24th, 2019.

This response form accompanies a summary of key topics addressed in the draft AD Guideline and presentation for introductory purposes.

The CBA invites your comments using the instructions and questions provided in this feedback form. All comments will be reviewed, and the CBA will consider and revise the document as appropriate. The CBA intends to publish the draft document in early June 2019 and invite broader comments to finalize in fall 2019. The document is intended to be a living document updated as needed to reflect the best practices of the sector.

If you have any questions, please review the CBA AD Guideline webpage or send to jgreen@biogasassociation.ca.

Thank you in advance for your time and input!
